Jan.2010 All good things come to an end

As you can all see this site hasnt been updated for a while...with good reason.... redstr/collectiv eis a clsoed venture. Whiel we had great succes and alot fo fun it's time for the next stage of both Christine & Alex's design careers. This site will stil remain up for collectors and anyone interested in our past work. We will also put up links to any future ventures we are involved with. So thank you to all our collegues and friends over the years who made our design dreams happen.

If you are interested in any of the older pieces there are some still available so get them while you can by contacting us directly.

May 29.2006 Taking a break

We are currently takign a break until the fall. We have decided to concentrate on our manufacturing deal with Areaware and develop more ideas for them. But... expect 2 new holiday releases in October out of our own production house.

And if you missed it in early May redstr/collective was picked as one of Metropolitan Home's Design 100 for 2007 for the Alma Fortune Cups done in colaboration with TObias Wong.

January 16.2006 It's Official... redstr/collective and Areaware!

As of this past week redstr/collective has become part of the Areaware family. Look for them to be producing the full line of Alma Fortune cup & saucer now. We are very happy and thankful to have our designs being manufactured and distributed by them. Much love goes out to Tobi, Kip, and Noel. Look for new projects in the next coming months coming out by us through Areaware. This company finally gives us the opportunity to realize some of the design pieces we have been siting on for a bit.

Much love goes out to JCDC for hooking up X-Tine's birthday party. Eventhough some of you ruined the surprise, you know who you are, it was great. Thanks to everyone for coming...

December 9.2006 Tobias Wong vs. redstr/collective

So it finally happened. We have our first official colaboration projects with Tobias Wong, the Alma Fortune LTD cups & saucers. These pieces are limited to a run of 600 and are available at C.I.T.E, The Future Perfect, Matter, Commissaires, and The Cooper Hewitt Design Museum Shop. Get them while they are still available. These cups & saucers have one of a kind fortunes suspended in time with 22 ct Gold.

November 21.2006 Yo, I'm da manager

Well we decided not to get so involved with a NYC chocolatier after their insesent flakiness. It actually bummed us out because we had some great things planned for them. Oh well, you live and learn and we wish them much success.

Look for extensive coverage of the Alma Fortune cup & saucers in multiple publications this holiday season.

Tobias Wong and redstr/collective will be releasing a limited run of Alma Fortune cups & saucers in gold that will be available only at certain retailers... stay tuned for more.

September 4.2006 Bye Bye Summer...

So the summer is over and it's time to get back in gear. It was great to have a little relaxing time to catch our breath. Thanks to our families and friends who we got to spend some time with.

We have currently added more stores and will update our "Where To Buy" section once all orders have been shipped. See you soon SF, WI, NH....

We will have some of our pieces shown at an exhibit opening at the Heidi Cho Gallery In NYC this week. Come to the opening on Thursday September 7th 6-8pm. It's a group show with some of the other designers in Brooklyn. The show is being curated by Tobias Wong and Carlos Selgado.

Working on 2 holiday products to be available soon. Think soft and cuddly vs. white and hot.

Would like to welcome Mr. Oli Lutz back to Brooklyn... It's good to have you back.

Looks like redstr will be knee deep in chocolate over the next few months.

July 8.2006 So whatchya want?

If anyone is out in Houston TX over the weekend check out the Citizen Citizen show at Peel Gallery. Our Alma Fortune cup & saucers will be on display.

Look out for a new Boym colab with redstr before the end of the year.

We will now be carried at Swallowtail in SF. So keep a look out for our stuff on the left coast.

June 12.2006 A new site, a new studio...

Well as you can see we have updated our site to reflect the direction that redstr/collective is going in. Our product line will be much of the same with more of a focus of new luxury items. We are very excited about this and have more things on the way soon.

redstr/collective is alo moving out of our current studio at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Our new studio is only 5 blocks away and we will be sharing it with The Design Can. We are very excited by this new sign of growth and will have much more freedom in our new space. Much love goes out to Steve and Jeannie for making this possible.

Lastly look for some of our product line to be present at this years Gift Fair at the Javitts Center in NYC this August. We will have some of our product line being carried by The Future Perfect as part of their new wholesale division.
